My father was a veterinarian here for sixty years. As a child in the fifties I remember he took care of everyone’s animals, sometimes with a chicken or some eggs for payment. White Hall was more covered with fields and ponies than it is today. As an adult I chose to live on a farm to provide that rural experience for our daughters and now for my grandchild. As a natural history educator, I enjoy sharing knowledge of our rural heritage and involving children and adults in their natural surroundings. To protect the open space around us, I will support direct farmer sales, on the farm, in local stores, and at farmers’ markets.
